Steps to manage the My SQL database in cPanel. Follow these steps properly to perform various functions in My SQL database.

Let’s assume that you are already logged in to cPanel and on the home screen.

  1. Click on the “phpMyAdmin” icon.

  1. Now you are on the default phpMyAdmin page where you can manage all the existing databases.MySQL Database in cPanel

    Create database user.

Follow these instructions:

  • Click MySQL database in cPanel home screen.msql-databases
  • Give the Username in the “add new user” option.
  • Enter the password.
  • Re-enter password for confirmation.
  • Submit the details and click on create user.

    Change the password of the user.

If in case, you forget the password of your database then you can change that password anytime. Security issues can also be a reason of changing the password.

To change the password, follow the given instructions:

Click MySQL database in cPanel home screen.

Select option “current users” and then click on the set password after entering the new password.

Login with the new password.

Rename user

Follow these instructions:

  • Click MySQL database in cPanel home screen.msql-databases
  • Select option “current users” and then click on the rename username and enter the new name. Click renames option.
  • Type the name in the text box and click proceedrename database user

    Delete user

  • Click MySQL database in cPanel home screen.
  • Select option “current users” and then click on the username you want to delete and then click on the delete option.

Whenever you delete a username, all the database permissions of the user will be deleted automatically.

Manage database

Follow these instructions:

  • Click MySQL database in cPanel home screen.

  • Enter the name of the new database under create new database option.create-new-database
  • Proceed and click on create database.
